Front.
Embroidered across the chest is Vshey, the name of the brand yet beyond just a name, it carries the warmth of tradition. In Balochi culture, Vshey is a word spoken upon arrival and departure, a heartfelt expression of goodwill, much like a whispered blessing for one’s journey ahead.
Encircling this word are two perfect circles, symbols of love and self-identity, eternal, unbroken, and deeply personal. Within one of these circles stands the towering minaret of Badshahi Mosque, a monument to Lahore’s spiritual and architectural grandeur. Wrapped around it, a delicate floral pattern mirrors the ornate carvings found on the city’s timeless walls, speaking softly of heritage and artistry.
Beneath this, a verse from Bulleh Shah is inscribed:
“اے دُنیا داری ایتھے سب کج جإیز”
(This is the realm of worldly affairs; here, all is permitted.)
A poetic reflection on the nature of existence, these words remind us that in the grand marketplace of life, everything has its place every joy, every sorrow, every pursuit.
To the side, a cut-panel unfolds, stitched with images captured by Muhammad Baloch, offering glimpses of Lahore’s soul, majestic buildings, cultural imprints, a bicycle that echoes the city’s old rhythms, and a street vendor’s cart draped in fabrics, a silent observer of countless stories. The panel itself is meticulously stitched with thread, binding past and present into a singular frame.
Back.
The back tells a story of time, a visual symphony of Muhammad Baloch’s photographs woven into Lahore’s cultural landscape. Behind them, an intricate pattern inspired by the city’s historic walls stretches across three sections, each infused with meaning, each reflecting a different phase of life.
The leftmost panel, in soft monochrome, captures the echoes of the past memories frozen in time, steeped in nostalgia.
The rightmost panel, washed in muted tones, reflects the present a bridge between what was and what will be.
The center panel, bursting with color, symbolizes life in its fullest form vibrant, untamed, ever-changing.
These three segments come together as a metaphor for the journey of existence childhood, youth, and old age reminding us of the fleeting yet beautiful nature of time.
Etched across this canvas is a powerful Balochi verse:
“چڑھدے سورج، ڈھلدے ویکھے۔”whisper a universal truth we have seen rising suns fade into dusk, just as we have watched greatness decline. Yet, we run endlessly, chasing illusions, refusing to embrace the certainty of time. This t-shirt is more than fabric and thread، it’s a reflection of impermanence, a tribute to the stories that rise, fall, and live on.
